On the outskirts of Lahore in present-day Pakistan, Yoshida Hiroshi made this sketch of the approach to the city. A group of camels and their keepers rest in the foreground as many people and animals approach a small gate in the city wall. Dim light from the rising sun is just beginning to appear above the buildings.
