Detached folio from a dispersed copy of the Shahnama (Book of kings) by Firdawsi; text: Persian in black nasta'liq script, heading in white naskh outlined in black; recto: text, Siyawash and Afrasiyab play polo; four columns, twenty-five lines; verso: illustration and text, Siyavush and Afrasiyab play polo, four columns, six lines; one of a group of twenty-five folios.
Border: The text and the painting are set in gold, red and purple rulings on paper with animal and landscape motifs.
