Fragment of a small olive-green celadon bowl

Shape: Fragment of the wall and mouthrim of a small celadon bowl. The shard is 0.6 cm thick at its base and 0.3 cm thick at the rim.

Clay: Relatively fine, dark gray stoneware with a modest number of black inclusions. There are only a few very small air pockets.

Glaze: Both the inner and outer walls of the shard are covered with a thick coating of a clear, olive-green glaze which shows a broad crackle pattern. The mouthrim is completely glazed.

Decoration: The cavetto is decorated with combed incising in what appears to be a freely drawn, sweeping floral design. There is also an incised underglaze ring approximately 1.0 cm below the rim on the outside wall of the bowl.
