Guanyin (the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara) standing on waves

An oil painting, in warm tones, depicting Noriyuki Haraguchi's installation, Matter and Mind - a dark, smooth, rectangular pool filled with oil. The oil reflects the windowed atrium above, as well as the facing portraits of Ruhollah Khomeini and Ali Khamenei, reflected upside down. The pool is at a slight diagonal to the viewer, and is surrounded at each corner by two cement pillars.
