This large portrait sculpture may depict Lobsang Tenpay Dronmey, a Buddhist abbot with an overbite. He was the second leader (Jetsun Dampa) in the Khalka Mongolian reincarnation lineage. The Khalka Jetsun Dampas were spiritual and secular leaders who built monasteries in Outer and Inner Mongolia, Buryatia and the Kalmyk regions of Russia. Lobsang Tenpay Dronmey was also the head of one of the Khalka tribes of Outer Mongolia. Among his teachers were Rolway Dorje.
