The drawing, from a Barahmasa or Twelve Months set, depicts the monsoon month of Ashadha (June-July), indicated by the wind-blown trees and shrubs. A prince and princess watch from the terrace above while a sage sits in front of his forest hut fronted by a lotus pond.
