-
Jar with thick, everted rim, long neck, four vertical lugs, slender body, incised and appliqued decoration, and amber-brown glaze.
Clay: fine-grained, light gray stoneware clay, wheel-thrown and thin.
Glaze: mottled, translucent iron-tinted glaze on exterior, ranging from golden-amber to dull brown depending on thickness and firing. Thin iron-tinted wash on interior.
Decoration: Four wide vertical lugs evenly spaced around shoulder at base of neck. Wide upper end of lug pressed onto shoulder with edge facing down, bent upward and outward; tapered lower end pressed down and attached with pinched, ornamental lobe.
