Jar with cover

Jar with fitted cover, full body narrowing toward flaring base, short neck; domed cover with knob and flattened overhanging rim. Chip and glaze flaws in cover rim; foot rim slightly wedge-shaped, unglazed and inset from glaze beading at base. Double ring mark on base.
Clay: white porcelain.
Glaze: transparent, flawed.
Decoration: painted in underglaze blue, line and wash. Cover: two conventionalized flower heads with leafy scrolls, knob is blue, rim has four half-prunus motifs on blue “ice” ground. At lip, trefoil motif. Comb band around base of neck. Body with eight flower heads same as on cover and similar conventionalized foliate scroll.
