Dish, low, with rounded sides and slightly everted rim.
Clay: porcelain.
Glaze: clear; a few pinholes and impurities.
Decoration: painted in underglaze cobalt, clear medium-blue wash and darker outlines, copying a traditional design of the Ming dynasty Ch’eng-hua period. Center inside, “three friends of winter”–pine, plum, and bamboo–with garden rock and fungus, enclosed by double-line band which is repeated at rim. Outside, following model, a scene with figures on a garden terrace with plants and trees.
