- Description
-
Storage jar: strong, bulging shape on wide flat base, formed by building and paddling; short neck and turned out lip.
Clay: gray, fine-grained, smooth, medium-fired.
Glaze: none.
Decoration: none save as produced by paddling technique creating faceting and occasional striated markings. Fewer paddle marks as shape closes, suggesting that some turning was done at this point and to finish mouth. Small hole in lower side wall, probably from an inclusion scuffed out. A number of random scratches are seen in the clay.
