Manuscript; Mihr u Mushtari (the Sun and Jupiter) by Assar; Persian in black nasta'liq script; headings in gold; 233 folios, flyleaf with inscription, a double-page frontispiece (fol. 1 verso, 2 recto), 3 paintings (117recto,146verso, 161verso), inscriptions and dated colophon (fol. 233recto); seals (flyleaf, and 233recto); standard page: 2 columns, 11 lines of text.
Binding: The manuscript is bound in brown leather over paper pasteboards with a scalloped central medallion and corner pieces. The doublures are of brown leather filigree over a blue paper ground.

Colophon: fol. 233 recto:
"The book was finished with God's help and assistance in the year [A.H.] 882,
[A.D. 1477-78] in Shiraz. Written by Shaykh Murshid the scribe, may [God] forgive his faults. Amen."
