Celadon-Longquan type.
Vase: Bottle shaped with tall cylindrical neck surrounded by a flat horizontal ring flange about one third of the way up.
Body: Fine-grained, vitreous, light gray porcelain, fired reddish brown on foot rim.
Glaze: thick, opaque, gray-green celadeon filled with minute bubbles many of which have burst on surface leaving tiny gray flecks; covers whole vessel and inside of base, leaving only foot-rim bare. Nicked on one side.
Decoration: None.

Celadon-Longquan type.
Vase: Bottle shaped with tall cylindrical neck surrounded by a flat horizontal ring flange about one third of the way up.
Body: Fine-grained, vitreous, light gray porcelain, fired reddish brown on foot rim.

Label

The thick, bubbly glaze and pale gray clay body are typical of Longquan ware of this period. Potters deliberately ground glaze materials coarsely and slightly under fired the vessels to achieve this lustrous, jadelike glaze. Bottles like this were made for use within Buddhist temples; they held either flowers or a candle. They were also exported.
