This was one of a lot of ten previously undescribed books, from the Freer house library, which were put under No. 6013 on the Reserved Book List (see Curatorial Remark 1, G.D.G., 1935, in the object record, as well as F1906.302, Curatorial Remark 1, G.D.G., 1935, in the object record).
[2] The original deed of Charles Lang Freer's gift was signed in 1906. The collection was received in 1920 upon the completion of the Freer Gallery.

Manuscript; Dala'il al-khayrat (Guide to good deeds); Arabic in black and red naskh script; vocalized in red; 66 folios with 2 illustrations in gold silhouette (fols. 10 verso, 11 recto) and 1 illuminated heading (folio 1 verso); standard page: one column, thirteen lines with marginal writings.
Binding: The manuscript is bound in red leather over paper pasteboards with gold and blind tooling on the exterior covers and doublures of green-colored paper. The envelop flap has a surface and a border identical to that on the upper and lower covers.
